Ready to join in on the fun?
We will be looking at Gosu together. Gosu is a 2D game development library for Ruby first released in 2017 by GitHub user jlnr: https://github.com/gosu/gosu
In our meeting we will first cover a brief overview of how it works. Then we will begin a very minimal example to show the basics starting from scratch of a) background and b) player movement.
Then we will look at 2 very different Gosu games that were released on GitHub by others so we get the chance to see what Gosu is really capable of. It allows you to do quite a lot with relatively few lines of code!
For the remainder of the allotted time we will explore the code of those games together locally, make modifications, etc depending on the interests of the group.
