Topic: The Civics Project - Indexing all of Canadian politics
While the government has grown increasingly complex, the bias in news coverage has emboldened.
The Civics Project’s mission is to index and summarize all of Canadian politics.
Having summarized the current House of Commons bills and votes, along with $751 billion of federal spending, Mikaal Naik from the Civics Project will discuss the project’s current progress.
We’ll also talk about future features to bring accountability and engagement to public policy.
Speaker:
Mikaal Naik is a software engineer based in Toronto. He founded the TorontoBeach.app, Canada’s first use of machine learning to predict public water quality, and currently works as design engineer at Voiceflow.com
You can find the project on X at @civicsproj
Agenda:
7:00-7:20 Welcome and Introductions
7:20-7:50 Presentation and Q&A/discussion
7:50-9:00 Breakout groups
