A Simple Trick to Minimize Distractions During Work

Presentation byBlack Screen

When building or rehearsing a presentation, it’s easy for visual clutter—chat windows, notifications, or multiple toolbars—to chip away at your concentration without you noticing. One effective way to reset your attention between tasks is to step away from busy screens and give your eyes a moment of visual calm. Instead of flipping between apps or checking messages, I sometimes switch to a black screen for focus to clear the visual noise and let my brain regroup. That brief pause can help sharpen concentration, making it easier to return to slide design or rehearsal with renewed clarity and fewer interruptions.
