πΊπ¦ We have Natalia from the VueJS core team and GitLab with us!
Her journey through in the software industry is incredible. From learning to code at 11 using BASIC on a ZX Spectrum, to getting a Master's degree in Computer Engineering, to learning JavaScript while becoming a mother, she's been considered a "junior" through that entire part of her career π
It was through her involvement with the VueJS community, meeting friends like Sara Vieira, and working on VueJS itself, she started working at GitLab which rocketed her upwards to the next stage of her career π
These days, she's based in Amsterdam. However, a large part of her journey was from Ukraine where she's from. Natalia was kind enough to speak about the current situation in Ukraine with us as well ππ½

π¬π· Today we have Eleftheria from Greece with us, at CityJS Athens!
We talk about her journey into tech (which almost happen!), leading to learning Angular.js in the early days before transitioning into React & React Native π These days, she had a Master's degree in technology - quite the achievement from almost not entering the field!
She spent the early part of her career in the startup space, where she had to wear many hats. One of which was to continually improve UI/UX even without access to a designer, which served as inspiration for her content at CityJS Athens π©βπ¨
Throughout her journey, she's leaned on the community to help her advance her skills, and she's chosen to give back by elevating developers through her content. Today, she's the Lead Community Manager at Hash Node, working with the team there to do the same ππ½

ππ½ We have the one and only Ujjwal Sharma with us!
He's doing deeply meaningful work specifying the JavaScript language and in the open-source software space, which is the part of the journey we know. However, what inspired him to get here is incredible to hear! π
From starting off by creating video games to play with his brother and pranking friends, he started learning more about computers. During high school, he participated in Google's Summer of Code which accelerated his passion. But this passion was quickly tested when he discovered the realities of studying computer science in university π
Thankfully, his involvement with communities kept his dream of moving to Europe alive. Through his involvement with the V8 team and NodeJS, he was able to join Igalia to work more closely with TC39 β¨
Check out his incredible story and follow him for more ππ½

βοΈ In this episode, we have Dan Abramov from Meta!
His work doesn't need an introduction, but the journey to get there is incredible. From learning Visual Basic as an introduction to English, to getting those early formative jobs that shaped his approach & reasoning about problems, to starting with React & getting involved with the community - it's what makes him the person he is today βοΈ
