Speaker: Joe Zhou Abstract**: This talk explores the shift to modern web frameworks, focusing on Hono—a successor to Express that uses standard web APIs like Fetch and Request for cross-platform compatibility and simpler, more efficient development.

7:00 pm to 7:30 pm - Rethinking AI Ethics and Safety: Rights, Risks, and Real-World Solutions for Advanced AI
Speaker: Amir Kiani Abstract: This talk explores ethical and strategic risks in advanced AI, using a fictional whole-brain emulation to show how misalignment can lead to moral harms and existential danger. It proposes rights-based solutions to improve AI safety and governance.
