In the world of Javascript, async/await events used to be magical and hard to understand, but not anymore! In this engaging and informative talk, we will dive deep into the concept of the event loop. Designed for both senior and mid-level developers, this session aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the event loop across various environments, including web browsers and Node.js. This will help us understand how Javascript handles async events from the past to the present, so we can continually improve our code.

AmsterdamJS is the largest and longest-running JavaScript meetup in town!
JavaScript has a bright shining future and the Amsterdam tech scene is thriving. Although there are vibrant user meetups and conferences on related topics, the city needs a strong and all-embracing JavaScript community and AmsterdamJS is it, since 2010.
Our goal is to cover everything JavaScript, from the browser to the server, from the framework to the crazy hack and from the hardware appliance to the data visualization. We also run an annual conference - JSNation

How does an async runtime work? And more importantly, why bother with async at all? Is it worth the trouble and added complexity?
Async is arguably one of Rust's most complex and least understood features. As a wise man once said: "Async Rust is Rust on hard mode".
Eylon Levi will be our guide through this maze. In the process of writing a small async runtime, he'll help you explore and learn the inner workings of the system. This way, you will truly understand how async works, and will be able to use it confidently in your own code when you need to.
