Building a game level editor with Svelte

Description: I made a web-based level editor for my video game using Svelte and SvelteKit. I’ll talk you through why the game needed a custom level editor, how I implemented the visual editing interface, and some of the technical challenges I encountered along the way. 

Bio: Elliot Bentley is a frontend developer and journalist, specialising in data visualisation, who also dabbles in video game development.

Building 3D experiences for the web has always leaned on Three.js, and with Svelte we have libraries such as Svelte-Cubed and Threlte which allow us to do so declaratively. I will go over threlte-spline, the library I published which acts as the bridge between Threlte and the powerful design tool, Spline.
