The presentation is focused on exploring the innovative concept of Server-Driven User Interface (UI) and its transformative impact on mobile app development. We will dive into the dynamic approach of decoupling UI rendering from client-side code, allowing for real-time updates and modifications without the need for app store updates. It will also provide insights into the advantages of Server-Driven UI, such as enhanced flexibility, improved user experience and highly customisable content delivery.

Building a server driven UI with React is perfect as Reacts dynamic nature makes it easy to render and update UIs based on API responses but it still requires many round trips over the network. React 19 and RSCs are a perfect solution to this problem! By leveraging the new features in React 19 we can now build an even more performant server driven UI. In this talk I’ll demo how I’ve been able to leverage React 19 and RSCs in an enterprise application to build server driven UIs.

There are dozens of ways to deploy an application. Options, like hosting on Vercel, are super hands off. You could take things into your own hands and manage your entire AWS infrastructure yourself. But what if you wanted a nice option in the middle?

Ease of deployment, while having complete control over your infrastructure?

I'll run through how SST fits in the above niche, and how we can use it to quickly publish a Sveltekit app that talks to DynamoDB tables.

I'll then touch on handling real-time data using Server-sent events, which are an underrated alternative to Websockets.
